Cousin Andy’s partners with the Southern Illinois Irish Festival to welcome Andrew Finn Magill and Kevin Buckley to the stage at The Church of The Good Shepherd on Saturday, September 23rd, at 7:30pm.
Andrew Finn Magill is one of the leading Irish fiddle players in America, coming to us from Asheville, NC. His two most recent albums are “Roots,” featuring traditional Irish dance tunes, and “Branches,” consisting entirely of his own original compositions. He has performed and recorded with some of the leading names in Irish music, and he also crosses over into jazz violin, and bluegrass and old-time fiddle.
Kevin Buckley is a central figure in the St. Louis Irish music scene, a regular on stage at John D. McGurk’s Pub, and a fiddle teacher at the Folk School as well as St. Louis Irish Arts. He is the guitar accompanist of choice for many touring Irish musicians who play in St. Louis, and is also a vocalist and a fiddle player who has performed most years at the Southern Illinois Irish Festival.
